Here at Tails on the Rails LLC, we understand that grooming small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs just isn’t the same as grooming dogs. These are incredibly unique animals whose basic needs and behavioral cues are far different from each other’s, let alone a dog’s.

• Education

   Our groomer currently holds a PRG Rabbit Groomer certification and is working towards her PRG Certified Master Rabbit Groomer title. While to our knowledge there is currently no certification in guinea pig grooming, she has taken a class and done much research on the subject. She is also the proud, semi-crazed mumma of a one-earred rescue American Sable rabbit with his very own Van Gogh themed room and a rescue Silkie guinea pig who has better hair than she ever will.

• No Dogs Allowed When Grooming Rabbits

   We already run our appointments one-on-one, which promotes a more relaxed, quiet, and focused atmosphere for both pet and groomer. In the case of rabbits and guinea pigs, this also prevents the undoubtedly stressful situation of having an animal who wants to eat them staring at them from the floor nearby.

• Rabbit (and Pig!)-Friendly Products

   Did you know that not all grooming and cleaning products are created equal? With hundreds of products on the market, and most geared towards dogs and cats, it can be hard to find something safe for small animals. Being self-groomers, it is especially important that any product used on/near them is 100% safe. But not to worry; we’ve done the research and use only the safest, highest quality products and tools on and near our rabbit and guinea pig friends.
